I play viola for my crazy gypsy steampunk circus of a developing band, and I really want to learn how to eat fire for the stage show. Any idea where I could learn that?

After juggling and sleight of hand, I shall be training in this too.

I have a friend whose father does fire eating, bull whip, and fire whip. I told her I need to come home with her or at least visit over the summer so I can learn these things, but she seems to think I'm joking. THIS IS NOT A JOKE.

From what I've gathered, with fire eating, there's some technique involved, but not really a trick. Apparently you have to develop callouses or some such on the inside of your mouth and throat.
I want to learn, but it also makes me wonder if I can even do so with my tongue pierced. It does tend to act as a heat sink.

Well, there are a ton of tutorials on Youtube, though I don't know that I would fully trust those, were I sane, but I may not be, so I intend to try when I can afford it.

I don't know wher eyou heard you have to develop calluses anywhere. That is not the case.
Fire eating takes a lot of skill and practice. And it is somewhat of a "trick". You still eat fire, but for those of you who know how fire works, it's not possible to swallow actual fire.
Find a fellow performer in your community and practice for HOURS with unlit torches. You can't be having them touch anything in your mouth or on your face. From there you can learn which type of torch (material) and fueling is best.
As for fire BREATHING? That's a skill I wouldn't suggest to anyone. Not only is it dangerous, it's actually poisonous to your health. And eating on it's own, if done artfully is gorgeous.
For those of you who wish to learn to eat fire, another suggestion of a skill you might want to learn is fleshing which is a form of contact fire dancing.

I want to learn to fire dance. I found a few places in California that would teach you how. When I have the money I plan to take classes to learn.

I breathe fire, but there's a circus school where I live... I'd suggest finding one of those?
