I am sad to note we haven't a thread for aerial dance yet. I am fairly new to aerial dance but am addicted and getting quite good actually. I do fabric mainly but have also dabbled with trapeze, hoop and slings. I am also a stilt walker (which is a form of aerials in and of itself) and come August I shall be learning how to do aerials ON STILTS. I'm excited. Any other aerial dancers out there?

That's awesome! I would really love to learn, but there aren't any teachers in my area -.-"

If I could learn I would, but it's really hard to when you're constantly moving /sigh

I am! :3 there's two circus schools near where I live. I do fabric and sling mostly, with trapeze and stilts thrown in. Hoop is a bit painful, but I do it anyway.

Hoop is painful, but it's so sexy if you do it well.

I love hooping! I have found that the secret is to not think about it too much, likelet the hoop glide around you're body. And also, good ol' fashion practise. I have been hooping since August last year.

Ah. When I first started I was actually fairly decent. I could NEVER hoop when I ws younger... it just comes natural now.
